Ian Curror organ tutor

Welcome to my website. I am an experienced and successful organist, teacher, examiner, choral director and accompanist, living in South Devon.

With many years experience as a professor at the Royal College of Music, Trinity College of Music and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, I offer tuition in organ playing and music theory at all levels. I am lucky enough to have access to some fine organs in South Devon and I enjoy working with students who wish to improve their skills and repertoire.

As a former examiner for the ABRSM, I offer support for students taking their grade exams: especially with aural, theory and sight-reading skills. I have also developed a wide range of supporting material for prospective Royal College of Organist candidates and can help with repertoire, keyboard skills and paperwork.

As former Director of Music at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, I have many years’ experience as a choral director and have conducted most of the major choral works and church music repertoire. As well as the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital, I’ve worked with the English Chamber Choir, Vasari Singers, Nonsuch Singers and many more.

I also have an extensive repertoire as an accomplished organ soloist at an international level and accompanist. Works as an accompanist include the Requiems of Mozart, Fauré and Duruflé as well as larger works such as Handel’s Messiah and Haydn’s Creation. As a liturgical organist I have accompanied most of the Anglican church music repertoire.
